CAIRO, Egypt — Osama bin Laden urged Muslims to launch a jihad against Israel, seeking to harness anger over the Gaza offensive with a new message posted on the Internet on Wednesday.
The al-Qaida chief vowed to open "new fronts" against the U.S. and its allies beyond Iraq and Afghanistan and also criticized Arab leaders, accusing most of them of being allies of the U.S. and Israel.
The White House dismissed the call to jihad, saying it reflects bin Laden's isolation and shows he is trying to remain relevant at a time when his ideology and mission are being challenged.

I was, at one time, reluctant to think that these sort of messages were "timed" - or at least released in a "timed" fashion - but this is just getting ridiculous.
Here's some thought.
When was the last time you saw bin Laden in video format?
When was the last time you saw footage of someone other than Ayman al-Zawahiri delivering Al Queada's message?
Some of you might find this nonsense, but do you honestly think that bin Laden in still alive?
What I am trying to articulate, is that we have an audio message - not a video presentation that Al Queada seems to have the technology to use. We haven't "seen" bin Laden in quite some time.
The timing of this message is almost to be expected. The format, though, does call in to question it's validity.
Ed Morrissey at HotAir takes up a much lesser point of view to this message without regarding it's predictability in context to Obama's inauguration.
