Promotional Disinformation

Seems that Glenn Beck, the man who claims to know everything about Nazis, Communists, Anti-Semites, and Racists doesn't realize that he's promoting a well-known Anti-Semite and Nazi sympathizer.

When World War II began in 1939, Dilling was part of the national network of anti-Semitics, anti-Communists, and Nazi sympathizers such as Father Charles Coughlin, Reverend Gerald L. K. Smith, Reverend Gerald Winrod, and William Dudley Pelley. Material generated by Nazi organizations in Germany to inspire race hated and exploit dissatisfaction in the United States found its way into Dilling's publications. She spoke at rallies hosted by the leading U.S. Nazi organization, the German-American Bund, and had traveled to Germany, pronouncing the country as flourishing under Hitler.

Dilling called for appeasing Germany; she blamed the war on Jews and Communists and accused the Roosevelt administration of being controlled by Jewish Communists. ... After Pearl Harbor, Dilling resisted wartime rationing and denounced the Allies.

As Media Matters points out Glenn Beck - the man who claims to research what he speaks about - completely missed ( or ignored ) a wealth of information chronicling Dilling's support ( both direct and indirect ) of the Nazi's.

When are we going to net a near "tear-worthy" response from Beck when the pressure mounts against him and his support of Dilling? I'm not looking for this one to happen. It will be more likely that Beck will claim those that have reported her Nazi leanings are part of a intricate cabal who's web of lies and deceit can be traced back to some hidden cult that was made up of early progressives in the mid 1800s.

Some Thoughts For Your Morning

- Conservatives love to use the specter of war, Nazism, and family in conjunction with one another to play to base emotions within the movement. Arizona governor Jan Brewer has conflated all three into a blatant lie in order to defend the over-reaching immigration law in her state. I wonder what else she's distorting in order for people to be on her side?

- I'm a fan of Sarah Silverman, but much in the same way that Janeane Garofalo stated, blanket statements about racism don't help the liberal/progressive cause. She is correct that there is a racist element to specific programs within the Fox"News" programming timeline ( both past and present ) I don't think the entire line-up is as racially motivated as it is completely and utterly dedicated to disseminating misinformation en masse.

- I'm continually asking myself why conservatives hate an organized workforce. They call groups like "teachers unions" a "special interest groups" that are there for nothing more than to have the upper hand in political power. I find this rather disturbing in the fact that these teachers are organizing in order to ensure that they have a voice beyond their vote at the polls. They want schools to be a place for all students, not just a select few. Why aren't conservatives concerned about corporate lobbyists? Could it be because they don't care for the average American, that they are there solely to see Republican ideals implemented that would ultimately afford mass deregulation to rape the American economy like they did during the Bush administration? Conservatives want privatized education that is affordable to the few, because to them, not all Americans deserve education.

- Seems that BP is starting to cover-up the fact that there environmental disaster is starting to show up on beaches in the form of dead animals. The "drill, baby, drill" meme is not just "spill, baby, spill" but "kill, baby, kill".

Some Thoughts For Your Morning

- Looks like one of the leaders of the Republican party isn't entirely pleased with Rand Paul's performance. Mitch McConnell, Republican minority leader and Senator from Kentucky, is taking on Rand Paul on his home turf. This is going to get even more interesting the closer we get to November.

- Isn't it convenient when conservatives at Fox"News" continually use the "technical error" excuse? They are at it again after a video clip of Obama giving a commencement speech at West Point was used online and the applause was strangely absent. I guess that "zero tolerance" policy for these types of "mistakes" isn't working out so well.

- Looks like someone took Erick Erickson's "shotgun" threat to heart, only she ended up pulling it on the cops too. So are we going to stop allowing conservatives to claim that there is no violent actions be perpetrated by the Tea Baggers?

- Conservatives and Fox"News" are practically wetting their collective Depends in trying to claim that the Obama administration isn't doing anything about the Gulf oil spill. A Republican Congressman from Louisiana recently took after the President on the House floor in a seriously misleading tirade. The reality that every conservative in America is missing is that the government is actually doing a lot.

- There really is no Godwin's Law within the conservative realm. And with DADT finally on the chopping block, conservatives are all in when it comes to discussing the Nazis, gays, and the military.

- After Rand Paul's admission that he thinks that private businesses should be able to discriminate on the basis of race, and the rightfully ensuing media coverage, it appears that there is a shake-up within his campaign to try and find some people that will help control the message and perhaps shield Paul from any more justifiable criticism. The trouble with this new campaign structure is that one of the key players on Rand's team was the man that defended Ron Paul for taking donations from neo-Nazis.

Some Thoughts For Your Morning

- why is it that conservatives and Fox"News" believe they should be taken seriously. For virtually the full 2 years Obama was campaigning for the Presidency - and ramping it up to full speed once they realize that their man McCain had absolutely NO CHANCE at winning - they have do nothing in the way of showing that they are either "fair" or "balanced", let alone both at the same time. So, when their bluff is called and it's time to show their cards, they resort to saying that Obama is a "whiner" or that he's too scared to come on Fox. My question is this, if there was someone that was consistantly trying to destroy you, your family, and your career, and one day they asked you to come to dinner and have a chat, would you do it?

- Likely a message left by irrate "tea-baggers", the new style of anti-Obama rhetoric must be vandalism and Nazi imagry all rolled into one. The later served absolutely no purpose during the failed 8 years of the Bush administration and that fact hasn't changed since. The only thing that has is that now conservatives think it's alright, since the some reactionary members of the other side did it before.

This Is Rather Upsetting

While it is commonplace for Republicans ( especially those within the fringe area of the conservative movement - who seem to be growing so large, that it's no longer "fringe" ) to use the American military as a stick with which to beat people. It's becoming rather pornographic, predictable, an ultimately sad.

Then, there's this.

While I cannot and will not speak of this man's service to the country, it's readily apparent that he knows little to nothing of Nazi Germany, but is more than willing to stick with the rhetoric of fear stylings that are so en vougue now with the tea-party set.

His equivocation that since the Nazi's were labeled the National Socialist Party, that this must means that the Obama administration is playing on the same political field as the Nazi's. This, however, is not true in more ways than can be enumerated.

After all, since the former USSR had the name Republic in it, does that mean that it was governed by Republicans? Absolutely not. But, to stick with the ideals and point of view of the gentleman in the video, this would be a logical jumping off point.

This morning, this man ( apparently a Marine ) was to be on Fox and Friends ( who suddenly have the desire to have members of the military on their show on a virtual daily basis ) to talk about his statements and his beliefs. I'll have that video up soon.

There is nothing more dangerous than an ill-informed person that is given a platform. And what is truly upsetting to me is that a person that is defending our country has fallen prey to the idiocy and falseness of the conservative movement.

Derangement Syndrome?

She's not so much deranged and she is, well.......take a look for yourself.

Now, the tables have been turned. Some folks are invoking Nazi allusions against Barack Obama.

I’ve pretty much stayed away from using such rhetoric against those with whom I disagree — especially having been on the receiving end of Nazi allusions myself countless times over the years.

Since she's "pretty-much" stayed away from it, I suppose now is her time to welcome the less-than-creative on her side.

Malkin was famous for whinging about those on the "left" that used Nazi imagry against her man.

She's got an entire "look-how-clever-I-am" section of her blog devoted to "Bush-Derangement-Syndrome"

Anyone that lacks the creativity to pose an intellectually sound rebuttal, and opts for the "Nazi" retort, deserves to be mocked. But since Malkin now seems to think it's alright, she's no better than those she derided for the past 8 years.

The mere fact that she is even defending this clown - and the rhetoric that she once denounce in all her purse-lipped fury - makes her not only a hypocrite, but so glaringly pathetic that anyone that takes even a fraction of what this woman says seriously should reconsider their ability to think for themselves.

She's not deranged, she's just an opportunist of the worst order.

Al Gore Is A Coward And ( Apparently ) I'm A Nazi Sympathizer

Recently, I posted a blog on DailyKos in regards to a challenge that Sean Hannity laid-out to Barack Obama.

Hindsight being the perpetually clear-eyed bastard that it is, I came to realize that my concern over this was severely misplaced. Obama doesn't have to appear on Hannity and Colmes or anywhere else that he is 'challenged' to appear by hyper-partisan conservatives.

When Obama doesn't appear, Hannity will refer to him as a "coward".

This is a tactic that Bill O'Reilly uses ALL the time.

Most recently, it was in reference to Al Gore's suprise appearance at the Netroots Nation convention in Texas:

O’REILLY: Al Gore now is done. He’s done. Ok. He is not a man of respect, he doesn’t have any judgment. The fact that he went to this thing is the same as if he stepped into the Klan gathering. It’s the same. No difference. None. K, he loses all credibility with me. All credibility.

( ThinkProgress has the audio link )

Bill's rationale that Gore is a 'coward' is due to the fact that he won't appear on his show. I'm certain that Gore has more important things to do than go on O'Reilly's program.

Bill likes to create the illusion that he gives a hard-hitting interview. But, did you see his ham-fisted verbal exchange with Hillary Clinton?

So, is Clinton now a "brave soul" capable of leaping tall buildings in a single bound?

No, but she wasted precious time better spent on endeavours such as cleaning her bathroom or perhaps hanging out with Bill and watching Ugly Betty.

So, Gore is a coward. But that's not all. Everyone - and I do mean EVERYONE - that not only attends the convention, but those that post on DailyKos, are just like the Nazis and the KKK.

O’REILLY: Ok, now he shows up on Saturday at the most hateful, there is not — and I’m including the Nazis and the Klan in here — there is not a more hateful group in the country than these Daily Kos people. Now, will they come to your house and hurt you? I don’t know, probably not. But, do they want to hurt you? Do they say terrible things about Tony Snow when he dies? All day long. Ok. Hateful hateful hateful. The rhetoric that they use and the rhetoric that the Klan and the Nazis use are the same rhetoric. It’s hate. Everyone knows that.

Now why would you go to a convention sponsored by these people when you know that currently on the Kos is stuff about Tony Snow, it’s good that he’s dead, he’s in hell, all of that. But Gore did, Gore went there. So did Nancy Pelosi. That disqualifies Gore from any serious consideration by me in the future. Al Gore now is done. He’s done. Ok. He is not a man of respect, he doesn’t have any judgment. The fact that he went to this thing is the same as if he stepped into the Klan gathering. It’s the same. No difference. None. K, he loses all credibility with me. All credibility.

Let's see, Nazi's try to kill all the Jews, DailyKos members post blogs on the internet about Republican-controlled government and the media that prop them up.

Members of the KKK have attacked and even killed African-Americans and DailyKos bloggers talk about Bill O'Reilly being - for lack of a more appropriate phrase - maybe just a little racist.

Yeah, so many simularities.
