Some Thoughts For Your Morning

- If companies weren't so eager to waste money on people like Bristol Palin and instead help pump it back into the economy on projects that actually matter, I'm pretty sure our economy would be turning around a lot faster.

- Considering conservatives abject hatred and complete lack of scientific knowledge, when presented with climate data like this it wouldn't surprise me if they spent millions of dollars on trying to debunk it. After all, they have invested more time and funds than one might imagine in the "climategate" emails.

- It's precisely this type of intellectually dishonest reporting that causes conservatives to react the way they do. So, are people to "settle" for something that they don't love? Have we suddenly become a country that is no longer inclined to follow their passions?

- Living in a rabidly right-wing area of Kentucky, I am privy to discussions and rhetoric that I would most certainly distance myself from. The loudest of these shouts often comes from gun owners who believe that Obama is going to take away their firearms. And while non of this is grounded in any form of reality, I find it odd and a bit disconcerting that not enough people are challenging these falsifications.

- Once again, Shepard Smith proves that he has more intellectual honesty and spine than most anyone at Fox"News". And while he does kowtow to those "in power" at the network, I really think that he deserves to be in the employ of another network. But if that were to happen, Rupert would lose his only safe-card to allow him to use the "fair and balanced" meme.

Good On You Shep

He's at it again.

Seriously, when is he just going to leave Fox"News"? You know the people in the control room as cringing when he does this.

But Will He Still Be There?

More often than not, Shepard Smith is the lone voice of reason at Fox"News". Prior to Alan Colmes exit-stage-left from Fox ( as a host, but he is still employed at a commentator from time to time ) Shepard Smith was largely ignored, but all that changed after Obama was elected.

And this wasn't he only time in 2009 that Shep made headlines amongst bloggers in the US. From his assertion that "we do not fucking torture" to his apologizing for not providing "balance" to a story that he was tasked with running, Shepard let the mask slip just enough for many of us to ask if he would still be the employ of Fox"News" in 2010.

The Next One To Leave?

Shep Smith can often be described as the "black sheep" of the Fox"News" crew. But something tells me that his days there are numbered.

Shannon Bream's insistance that multiple requests have been put out sounds rather familiar, does it not? Who's to say that Fox"News" actually has requested interviews. The only thing we have is their word, which far too often isn't worth much at all.

Shep, you're better than the network you serve. Cut your loses and get out while you still have somewhat of a soul left in you.

Careful Shep, You Might Lose Your Job

Shepard Smith is probably the only Fox"News" personality that is likely to be removed from the network because of what he says. The "what" is more often than not the truth that Fox is willing to ignore and cover-up.

Tonight, he let the mask slip further than anyone ever has:

Apparently Shep hasn't visited the Fox"Nation" website since it started up.

Shepard Smith's moment of honesty aside, it should be pointed out that the museum shooter was a white-supremist that was given a platform on a well-known right-wing website ( Free Republic ) and is of the "birther" mentality - meaning that he doesn't believe that Obama was born in the United States. Guess who else is off that same stripe....

Is this to say that Limbaugh is of the mindset to go off and start shooting people? Absolutely not. His area of expertise is in radicalizing people like James von Brunn.

But, back to Shepard Smith - the more that he talks about the fringe emails that he gets, the more that he gives voice to that which his network has denied with fierce intensity, the more likely that there won't be a Shepard Smith on Fox"News" for very long.

I Am At A Loss For Words

What?

TOLEDO, Ohio — Joe The Plumber is putting down his wrenches and picking up a reporter's notebook.

The Ohio man who became a household name during the presidential campaign says he is heading to Israel as a war correspondent for the conservative Web site pjtv.com.

Who is PJTV.com, you ask?

Well, thier website has this to say about Joe "The Guy That Has No Clue What He's About To Get Into" Wurzelbcher here.

Michelle Malkin, a PJTV contributor, seems to think that people are going to be praying to Joe's death during his trip.

Predicting death wishes for Joe from the left side of the blogosphere in 3, 2, 1…

All kidding aside, Joe is only being sent to the middle-east because of his comments regarding Barack Oabama and Isreal:

Does this man not realize what he's getting into? Has he the intelletual honesty to tell himself that he isn't a field reporter, that the "average Joe's" that he is bein sent to talk to in Israel more than likely will want nothing to do with him? Does he understand the real danger that he is putting himself in?

There is still a part of me that thinks that this is all hype and no delivery, all foreplay and nothing more - something juicy for the Fox"News" prattle-heads to pat theirselves on the back with . Is Joe honestly going to go to Israel and talk to the "average Jew" that is being affected by this conflict?

I'll believe that when I see it.

A Fox News Anchor That Makes Sense?

No, I'm not kidding.

It also appears that Uber-D-List "comedian" Nick DiPaolo is trying a new tactic to boost his fan-base - pandering to people who believe any and every right-wing talking point they hear from Fox"News". It seems that only getting booked as a dais-filler at whatever roast Comedy Central is doing isn't working out for him.

But, what is more telling than Shep's reaction is Dipaolo's noticable "deer in the headlights" response. He know's it's all talking-points so he has no way to defend it.
