The terrorists are getting our money, but don't even think about alternative energy.



That's essentially what Beck is saying here.

Remember when Bush began talking about alternative fuels? Remember all those ads out from oil companies talking about how they were on the forefront of alternative fuel research? Not long after that, most oil companies - including BP - shifted from advocates of alternative ( suicidal )energy and cut those programs back seriously in 2009.

So what is Beck saying? Is he in favor of dangerous practices, dangerous drilling in deep waters untested? Does he suddenly not care about our imports of oil from the Middle East? I'm not entirely certain that even he knows, as his paycheck often obscures what this country really needs. After all, the desire for conservatives to see Obama ( and by extension the country ) fail greatly outweighs their love for America.

Which one is it then: dangerous oil drilling, importing from the middle east, or alternative sources? The message over the last 3 years has become so muddled that not many people can tell now.

The Price Is What Gets You

Here's something cool.

Imagine taking the car you drive now, and never having to stop at a gas station ever again. AC Propulsion, has been converting gas-fueled cars to electric for the last few years. This is a piece profiling AC Propulsion's car, the Ebox, with a special interview with Tom Hanks, who owns one of these cars. Is this the way of the future?

You see, here's a fantastic idea that appears to fairly easy to do - though time consuming.

So, where is the validation of having a ticket price on this conversion at almost 60 grand. That's almost as much as I paid for my house.

Certainly, the fact that this shop is probably the only game in town - right now - has a lot to do with that. So, why not expand? Why not have shops on the East and West coasts? And, why stop there.

There is a fantastic demand in this country for cars that are not reliant on gasoline. It's a shame that these cars are only affordable to people like Tom Hanks.

Does Palin Even Know Where She Is Most Of The Time?

Not to suggest that Sarah Palin is "dumb", but it seems that she has taken to her speech-coaching a little too well. She can recite the lines at the drop of a hat. She has the ability to recall talking-points at lightning speed. Her political-Pavlovian response is quite a sight to behold.

One of the aspects of an entertainer - which is all Palin is, really - is the ability to "work the crowd" no matter where they are. Seems she hasn't learned that part yet.

"We not only provide wealth to the sponsors of terror, we provide high-value targets to the terrorists themselves," Palin said. "Across the world are pipelines, refineries, transit routes and terminals for the oil we rely on. And al-Qaida terrorists know where they are."

Palin spoke after touring Xunlight Corp., one of a handful of solar technology startup companies in Toledo, a struggling industrial city in this swing state. The city's leaders are hoping that the solar companies will create jobs to replace some of those lost by downsizing in the auto industry.





But Palin made only a passing reference to solar power in her speech and instead renewed her call for more drilling in U.S. coastal waters. She repeated her signature anthem, "drill, baby, drill," which seemed to fall a bit flat on the audience at the plant even as it's become a popular chant at her rallies.

That's right. She told a group of people who are doing their part to create jobs and are actually doing more than talking that it's important to "drill". Nevermind that these companies have nothing to do with oil, the woman has a script to stick to.

Next up, watch for Sarah Palin to visit an Indian reservation and tell them how greatful they should feel on Thanksgiving.

What Pundits, Talk Radio Hosts, and Other Conservatives Don't Understand About Drilling For Oil

It's the magic solution.

As soon as the first drill-bit hits the ocean floor in the Gulf Of Mexico, as soon as the first oil-company-employee steps foot in ANWR, not five minutes after that next oil-platform goes operational, gas prices are going to start dropping.

That might sound nice, might even sound great, but it's not true.

On Fox"News" and conservative radio - if you even bother listening to people who prefer the sounds of their own voices to the sounds of the voices of reason - you're hearing a lot about ANWR and how it's ALL Bill Clinton's fault that we are seeing such high gas prices.

The real truth lies within the vortex that conservatives have created in spinning their own conventional wisdom.

The ANWR talking point is something that is easily debunked, but conservatives are counting on you holding firm to your ignorance long enough for them to beat this issue to a bloody, unrecognizable pulp. Once you start to catch on, they'll have already moved on to something else.

Sure, there is - according to the U.S. Geological Survey - just over 3 billion barrels of oil in ANWR, but that will take 10 years to reach the 'market' and 50 years to extract it all.

By the time it's all said and done, we'll be dead once ANWR is tapped out and all the American consumer will have to show for it is barely a 6-months supply. There's no accurate way to determine how much damage could potentially be done to that wildlife reserve, but knowing that we would only get 6 months worth of oil from a 50 year drilling project doesn't seem to be as grand a solution as Republicans are making it out to be.

What makes all this 'talk' nothing more than just 'talk' from people who like to pretend they have all the issues, is that they are so against alternatives simply because Democrats are 'for' them. Once again, we see that Republicans are nothing more than the party of "against".

Enter T. Boone Pickens.

You've all seen the ad, I'm sure:



Now, here's a guy that is nothing more than a businessman. An oil-business man at that. He supported Bush's invasion of Iraq for all the reasons that Republicans have been denying we went there for in the first place - for oil.

Even though I'm not entirely certain that I trust Pickens' motives on this ( it's purely a business move on his part ) he does know more than Bill O'Reilly, Michelle Malkin, everyone at Redstate.com, the FreeRepublic guys, and certainly more than Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh will ever know about oil

Well, try telling that to Tim Wahlberg:

...you can imagine my frustration when conservative radio host Sean Hannity recently criticized Congressional Republicans for failing to act on energy policy. Mr. Hannity, have you been paying no attention? House Republicans need your help to galvanize the American people behind our legislation to increase American energy production. The American people look at you and Rush Limbaugh, the king of talk radio, as leaders of the conservative movement, and we need you to highlight our efforts.

Last week, Rush said, “Frankly, I'm a little tired of hearing Republicans tell us that they can't win. I'm tired of Republicans telling us how many seats they expect to lose in the Senate, how many they expect to lose in the House of Representatives, that this isn't their year. BS. This year has been served up on a silver platter. People vote with their pocketbooks, and Democrats are wrong on the biggest issue since 9/11.”

Mistake #6744 that Republicans make - actually believig that Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh know what the hell they are talking about.
