The Poor Man's Ann Coulter

When conservatives talk about race, it's generally predicated on something that could potentially happen to white people when someone that isn't white acts a certain way or excels in life to a specified degree.

Those within the fringe elements of the conservative movement, such as Michelle Malkin, have nothing but complete contempt for non-caucasions. What sets Malkin aside is the very real fact that she is a minority and will exploit that very fact when the opportunity presents itself. That's what makes this statement from her a little hypocritical.

I'm reminded of a post that I did some time ago where Malkin and Joe Hicks were discussing race and the GOP. Both agreed that the GOP didn't need minorities, which came off as more than a shade odd, as Joe Hicks is black and Malkin is Phillipino.

I would have to press Malkin far more than Matt Lauer did in this interview, as the Gates dust-up had little to do with race from Obama's perspective as it did the very real fact that the arresting office ( having determined that Gates was in his own home ) decided to take matters further simply because he was proven wrong. The race issue was manipulated by people like Michelle Malkin. But, to their advantage, both Gates and Obama are black.

It would seem that, since Barack Obama is who he is, regardless of the context of any given statement on any day, his words have to be tilted because of his race. This is how Malkin views the world, through a prism of stereotypes. To her, every hispanic is an illegal immigrant, every Arab is a terrorist, and every black man got to where they are by Affirmative Action. The catch is, if you are any of these AND a Republican ( which I will never be able to understand ) then you're alright in her book.

Much in the same way that Glenn Beck calls Obama a racist, Malkin means the same thing - she'll just attempt to dress her rhetoric up with as many polysyllabic descriptors as possible.

In the end, Malkin's books are teaming with racial opportunistic language. That makes her statement to Lauer all the more predictably hypocritical.

They're All Out To Get You!

Actually, Carrie Prejean is more than likely going to be better off, in terms of a career, now that she isn't Miss California anymore. She's certainly getting her Fox"News"-bitter-anchor-woman schtick down.

Paging Rupert Murdock....

DETHRONED!!!!!

Here's something that Ms. Prejean isn't considering or is just flatly ignoring - this is a Donald Trump business. He's not going to fuck around and go to bat for you and then allow you to trot around in your tiara and sash over at Fox anytime you feel like it. He's not going to put up with it, period.

But this isn't about how Trump runs his business. This is all about Carrie Prejean, "victim".

So let's hope that we can hear from the Special Olympics, these unnamed "hospitals", these people that Carrie seemed to have to call on her own. Surely Miss California has a press agent to do these things for her. And after all these alleged calls that she had to make on her own and she can't even call Donald Trump or Mr. Lewis, the director of the Miss California pagent?

Was she really that distressed over being fired or is she just ready to ride this train as far as it will take her?

When You Don't Take Your Job Seriously, At All

When asked by The Today Show's Matt Lauer whether he agreed "agree with Rush Limbaugh when he says that it’s common sense that as a conservative he wants the policies of Barack Obama to fail?" Micheal Steele replied:

Well, my personal opinion doesn’t matter in this. My job as the RNC chairman is to take into account all of the various views out there within our party and try to put together a strategy and a team that’s going to help us win elections.

That's right, the "leader" of the RNC says that his opinion doesn't matter.

So, let's take stock here:

- A party that can't seem to find a coherent plan to put forward about rebuilding the American economy. They prefer to play the part of obstructionists and speak in glittering generalities in order to create the illusion for the base that they know what's going on.

- A party "leader" that is nothing more than a rank amatuer

- A party that looks to an overpaid entertainer who is no more a leader than Steele, yet conservative Republicans seem to think he has all the right answers. Trouble is, he has no answers

Direct To DVD Nonsense

Matt Lauer and right-wing "filmmaker" John "Go Fuck Yourself Nate" Keigler had a nice chat on The Today Show:

Certainly, there were plenty of people within America that have called Palin an "idiot". But, to have that as the keystone of your argument - apparently not just within this particular interview - is a tad sophomoric.

Zeigler, to this writer, seems a bit to gung ho for his own good. By that, I mean that he seems to be far too enraptured with this idea that there is some hidden, shadow-faction of media moguls that meet annually in the Hamptons in order to discuss who they are going to get elected each voting cycle.

It's the classic "conservative sore loser" position.

People like Zeigler are not concerned with correcting the problems within the country, like the economy. They are more concerned with creating a winning image to a losing team.

That being said, I'd really like to see how the rest of the film plays out.

I'm sure that it's comedy gold.

Look What I Can Do!!!!

(m)Ann Coulter's on air antics and inane ramblings remind me of the Stewart character from Mad TV. She never answers a question directly, never does what she's asked, and don't even think about questioning her or getting to close to her. And the two are the greatest attention-whores ever. The sad part is, Coulter is a real person

On Hannity and Colmes, (m)Ann wasn't so much pimping her latest bundle of sophomoric nonsense as she was complaining about being a "victim". Interestingly enough, her book is about victimhood. Gee, how ironic.

*****For some reason, the Fox"News" embed isn't working. So, check out the great coverage from Newshounds for boths parts of the interview and further insight.*****

The best part of the whole interview is when Ann talks about how the left "hate" marriage and Colmes said "If you love marriage, you'd be married by now, wouldn't you?”. Classic.

Coulter was falling all over herself when speaking to Harry Smith on CBS - who, btw, did a far better job at letting Coulter what he really thought:

Watch CBS Videos Online

I don't think she was prepared for most of what Smith said to her.

Then, there was the inevitable interview with NBC.

While Matt Lauer made a rather poor attempt at holding Coulter's cloven-hoof to the fire, he honestly tried to validate her ham-fisted commentary about "single-motherhood".

I'm still trying to wrap my head around Coulter's assertion that Matt Drudge is somehow a shining example of journalistic integrity. Perhaps the one, and only, reason that his site has never had to retract anything is that the only people that give him any creedance, and shread of validity, are people like (m)Ann Coulter.

The one thing that people should take away from this, in yet another line of seemingly endless Coulter manufactured controversies, is that she needs the alleged "liberal press" that she so loves to loathe. It is her, not her detractors, that is the "victim" in this sociopolitical obsurd theatre.

(m)Ann Coulter will never be able to address issues from a rational perspective. She won't be able to listen to the world because she is Narcisus' daughter - so in love with her own voice, so enamoured with her fucking hair, that she won't hear or see what people outside her limited sphere of undertanding actually go through in their life.

Her next book would be aptly titled "Look At Me! : How Major Networks Fall For The Same Schtick Year After Year."
