Breitbarts Blubbery Rage : Part 7432

Is that the chick from China Beach in the lower right-hand corner? Who is that?

Well, nevermind her.

Let's take a look at a couple of things Breitbart is blubbering about.

First off, has anyone notice that Saul Alinsky was never a concern of the conservative movement until Obama pretty much had the election clinched in 2008? I can't recall one instance in the years prior hearing Fox"News" or conservative bloggers or beltway pundits talking about him. Seems there's a great deal of projection going on in that regard.

Secondly, justifying racial animus by claiming that it's not you but THEM that are propagating it does seem a bit typical and predictable. After all, having seen people like this and seeing signs like this, you do tend to be skeptical of the claim that there are no racist amongst the Tea Baggers.

This very idea that people like Breitbart are not admitting the obvious and not distancing themselves from this hate speech and racial divisiveness, that they think by not having a sense of accountability - something that conservatives continually preach but completely fail in on a daily basis, they can say whatever they want and get away with it. This isn't just about Fox"News" - the PR arm of the Tea Bagger movement - but the media at large ( save a few select members ) are not taking conservatives to task and demanding that conservatives explain why they are allowing racial hate speech to continue.

I guess it's ok to denounce "truthers" within the movement but not racists.

Live Tea-Bagging On Fox

Of course this was going to happen.

Planners of the National Tea Party Convention, billed as a coming together for the conservative grassroots groups who sprang up in anti-stimulus protests last year, announced late Sunday that they would broadcast main parts of the convention, including the keynote by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday night.

Jed Lewison at DailyKos points out that Fox"News" has a way to deflect some of the criticism that would rightfully be leveled at them - as they are more of a political action network instead of a strictly news outfit. Their weapon against this is that Palin is now on the Fox"News" payroll, so they are sort of "obligated" to show this.

This, however, doesn't cover up the fact that they continue to be a promotional arm of the Tea-Bagger movement.

The convention in Nashville, aside from it connections with Fox"News" now, isn't without other controversies. From prominent politicians, like Michelle Bachman, backing out to people complaining about the cost of tickets on down to Sarah Palin's monstrous speaking fee, the weekend will surely provide some great discussion material.

But here's my question - what happened to no media allowed? Well that all changed last month, so Fox"News" was already going to be there. All one has to do is take a look at the list of outlets deemed worthy to sit at the feet of eager Tea-Baggers and interview them and it's easy to tell how this event will be spun. I'm guessing half the reports are already written, considering we won't be learning anything about these poor saps that paid almost $600 just so they could show up.

Shorter Tea-Party Movement

No Racism here, nope, none at all, sort of. But even though he's an organizer, it'a all about context. I mean, he's not calling Obama that.

They've Figured It Out

State Rep. Sally Kern ( of the wingnuttiest Republican affiliation in Oaklahoma ) has introduced a resolution in the state legislature that puts the full brunt of blame for the recession on "debauchery".

No, seriously:

WHEREAS, we believe our economic woes are consequences of our greater national moral crisis; and

WHEREAS, this nation has become a world leader in promoting abortion, pornography, same sex marriage, sex trafficking, divorce, illegitimate births, child abuse, and many other forms of debauchery; and

WHEREAS, alarmed that the Government of the United States of America is forsaking the rich Christian heritage upon which this nation was built; and

WHEREAS, grieved that the Office of the president of these United States has refused to uphold the long held tradition of past presidents in giving recognition to our National Day of Prayer; and

WHEREAS, deeply disturbed that the Office of the president of these United States disregards the biblical admonitions to live clean and pure lives by proclaiming an entire month to an immoral behavior;

If only there was no porn, no gays, a president that favored talking to an invisible man in the sky. If only there was a land where there was no divorce, no drug abuse, and no sexual predators. Wouldn't the world just be peachy-keen.

After all, none of those vile things are perpetrated by conservative Republicans.
