Saw this over at Crooks And Liars and I am wondering exactly how this clown could even be considered to manage a McDonalds, much less an entire state.



The shear hubris that Kasich is exhibiting is beyond the pale. For him to even hint at the fact that his detractors should apologize to him would be completely laughable. But for him to say that he expects teachers unions to spend money to provide him supplication makes even Bill O'Reilly's ego look like a miniature figurine ( Kasich has helped out O'Reilly as a guest host on his Fox"News" show for several years ) and then claim that transportation improvements are more important for goods rather than workers is simply incredible to behold.

I see. Expand rails to move goods, not passengers, so people who make things couldn't really get to work to make things?

Seems that Kasich is angling to be one of the Tea-Baggiest of the Tea Bagger winners in the hopes that he would garner face-time on Fox"News" that he would have gotten anyway, regardless of a win or not.

This little threat from the governor-elect has caused me to postulate this - are we seeing the begining of the Tea Bagger ultimatum that will soon spread across the US? If that's the case, these people might well want to re-examine that strategy, as they are going after those same workers, that tax-payer bracket they allegedly champion.

Today is the anniversary of the Kent State Massacre. And, while some will think of the song "Ohio" by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young - with the reference to "tin soldies", I am reminded of Skinny Puppy's track "Tin Omen"

Still, With The Voter Fraud Business?

John Fund is hell-bent on convincing any and all that have the stomach enough to listen to him that registration fraud is the same as voter fraud. He even goes so far to say that the Vote From Home campaign that was started in Ohio was illegal. Check out a diary on Daily Kos from one of the Vote From Home organizers to see what really happened.

Considering that voter fraud is real, people should realize that to actually turn a falsified registration into a falsified vote requires many hurdles, multiple hoops, and twists and turns to navigate with little incentive to do so. Even if those fake registrations happen to turn into fake votes, the result would be nearly imperceptible.

Of course, Republicans are quite commonly linked with election tampering. They use voter-caging and massive voter-purge operations. These are what should be focused on.

Something that I have noticed through all the coverage that ACORN got from Fox and conservative blogs is that there were never specifics mentioned. They got a hold of their "they registered a Dallas Cowboys football player and Mickey Mouse" schtick and never went much further than that.

A local school district official confirmed after the event that of the 6,000 people estimated by the fire marshal to be in attendance this morning, more than 4,000 were bused in from schools in the area. The entire 2,500-student Defiance School District was in attendance, the official said, in addition to at least three other schools from neighboring districts, one of which sent 14 buses.
