As if on cue, Palin is allegedly set to make Jerusalem an giant conservative stage prop - all just in time to announce her 2012 presidential bid.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is planning a trip to the Holy Land sometime this spring, New York Post columnist Cindy Adams reports.

Palin’s Jerusalem visit will occur before the April 29 wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton, presumably to avoid the international media’s obsession with British royalty, the Page Six gossiper says.

Adams speculates that it may be the first of several international trips for Palin, who was Arizona GOP Sen. John McCain’s vice presidential running mate in 2008.

A high-profile visit to Israel could help bolster Palin’s foreign policy credentials in advance of a possible 2012 GOP presidential run. There’s no word yet on Palin’s specific itinerary, or which VIPs she’ll meet there.

It’s not the first time a possible overseas tour by Palin has grabbed headlines. In December, The Daily Beast site reported that an overseas trip was in the works for Palin to visit England and Israel.

And while the timing of the trip is given a healthy does of spin from Rupert Murdoch's tabloid rag The NY Post, I don't doubt that Palin and her handlers wanted all eyes to be on her when and if this goes down.

It does make a great deal of sense, as her Fox"News" employers are certainly ramping up the "Holy War" talking points in relation to the Middle East and a potential escalation of American involvement. Of course, as I've stated before, conservatives and Fox want this to be an American Jihad. What better way to rally the reactionary conservative base than to have Palin "on the ground" and then ask "why didn't Obama go to Jerusalem before then?"

Theatre of the Absurd at it's best.

No Sense Of Satire Or Their Own Position

Once again, Fox"Nation" relies on a truncated clip from a larger discussion, coupled with a healthy dose of misleading reporting to suggest that Paul Krugman is calling for a government oversight panel to decide who lives and who dies.

However, even within the clip that they chose to highlight, it's clear that Krugman is openly mocking the idea.



I find it rather interesting that while conservatives continually call for the Medicare program to either be overhauled or completely dismantled aren't seen as a "death panel" in and of themselves.

Tea Bagger astroturfer Dick Armey says the program is tyranny.

Prominent Fox"News" personalities, most notably Hannity and Beck, have nothing but disdain and contempt for what Medicare is. And these are the same men that pushed the "death panel" meme nightly prior to passage of healthcare reform.

Even Tea Bagger favorite Sean "I'm A Lumberjack And I'm OK" Duffy called for Medicare to be dismantled.

I just don't see the logic in being against reforming Medicare and then shouting "death panels" when you want to do away with the program all together. Do these people not realize that many elderly Americans rely on Medicare?

This is what happens when you try to play both ends of the spectrum, you end up looking like you don't know what you're doing.

Some Thoughts For Your Morning

- Micheal Steele takes issue with Rand Paul's comments on discrimination by private businesses but can't openly condemn them. Steele doesn't seem to have a problem condemning the Obama administration on a multitude of policies but as a black man in America he can't distance himself from Paul's blatant racial animus? That's GOP "leadership" for you.

- Talk about a serious lack of "spine". I mean, if Rand Paul is afraid of facing David Gregory in Meet The Press, then you won't last one term as a Senator.

- And right on cue, Sarah Palin ran to Rand Paul's defense on Fox"News" claiming that Rachel Maddow was being unfair and playing "gotcha" by asking a completely legitimate question. The bulk of conservatives are following this same narrative line and showing that they are willing to accept racial divisiveness with open arms.

- With conservatives all up in arms regarding illegal immigration and deportation of illegals, one has to question why these same people aren't being honest about the fact that the US has deported more illegals in an upward trend since 2009.

- No matter what Obama does, conservatives are going to complain about him and his administration. Now, they are claiming that he is hiding because he hasn't held an official press conference since last summer. I have to say that there are far more important things that the president needs to be doing rather than taking questions from the press pool right now.

Independantly Deceptive

Granted, this is Newsmax we're talking about here, but even their loyal readership should realize that this is a steaming pile of excrement.

Just when it appeared the various tea party organizations couldn't agree on anything, it looks like many of them have found common ground in support of a "Declaration of Tea Party Independence."

They primarily are declaring their independence from the political parties.

The declaration, posted on PolicyNotParty.com, is another sign the tea party organizations will continue to distance themselves from the Republican Party. More than 60 tea party leaders in more than 20 states reportedly have signed on to the new document. Among its highlights.

Considering that Tea Bagger Princess Sarah Palin has already addressed the seething throng of maladjusted prattle-boxes, telling them they HAVE to chose a party, doesn't this whole story wreak with the stench of "identity crisis"?

On the one hand, the Tea Baggers aren't going to vote Democratic no matter what happens. The Obama administration could cure cancer, AIDS, resurrect Reagan and bring out the worlds largest budget surplus and they'd still find fault. The flip-side is that their narrative have to match their actions. This is something that they will never be able to accomplish. These people are Republican through and through. No "Declaration" or spin from Newsmax is going to remove this very blatant and shining truth.
