Oh, Come On

Yes, she's just wearing a tie and the pic has been retouched.

Can we talk about something of value now?

Alright, then.

Fun With Legos

Not nearly as awesome as Michel Gondry's video for the White Stripes track "Fell In Love With A Girl", but still pretty friggin sweet.

Country First, Kids Last

Here's the McCain campaign's new "average-citizen-as-marketing-tool" Scary-Shirley The Candy Lady.

Hope her house got TP'd.

The Craziest "Preacher" On Earth

I don't even think Sean Hannity is crazy enough to bring this guy on his programs.

If you're wondering what else this guy does, you can check out his church website.

Not only does he think that Obama, Wright, and Oprah are "teh Gays", he thinks carrots can sure cancer.3

UPDATE!!!

Turns out Pastor Manning was on Hannity and Colmes, and Hannity he defended Obama?

Actually, Hannity just didn't want someone else sneaking in and taking over his territory. He thinks he should have a monopoly on lying about Obama.

Actress / News Anchor Attacked - Because Of Film Roll?

Unless you live in Little Rock, AK, you have probably never heard of Anne Pressly.

However, if you have seen Oliver Stone's latest film, "W", you would recognize her as the actress that played Ann Coulter.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Anne Pressly's personality made her a hit with television viewers. Now, police want to know whether her celebrity made her a target.

The popular KATV anchorwoman, who had a small part in the new Bush biopic "W," was in critical but stable condition Tuesday after a severe beating in her home. Investigators aren't sure whether she was the random victim of a home invasion or a target because of her high-profile job.

"(It) is possible that it is something other than robbery," police spokeswoman Cassandra Davis said. "Our detectives are talking with co-workers because she was a public figure, because she was on the news, in the media."

Pressly, 26, was found Monday a half-hour before she was due on the set of "Daybreak," a morning mix of news and features on Little Rock's ABC affiliate. Her mother discovered the anchorwoman battered and bloodied after she didn't answer a wake-up call.

More here.

It would be far too easy to cast this aside as simply coincidental. Others may take an even more pathetic path and claim that she "deserved it". As for myself, I find this highly suspect. This wasn't just a "robbery" attempt.

Further Proof That O'Reilly 's Ego Is Bigger Than Yours

Not like you really needed any more proof, but here it is anyway.

In a passage from his latest self-masturbatory fantasy entitled "A Fresh, Bold, Piece Of Humanity" O'Reilly writes:

Next time you meet an atheist, tell him or her that you know a bold, fresh guy, a barbarian who was raised in a working-class home and retains the lessons he learned there.

Then mention to that atheist that this guy is now watched and listened to, on a daily basis, by millions of people all over the world and, to boot, sells millions of books.

Then, while the non-believer is digesting all that, ask him or her if they still don't believe there's a God!

More, from the USA Today write-up:

With a huge first printing (775,000 copies), it's more personal than his previous best sellers, including Culture Warrior (2006) and Who's Looking Out for You? (2003).

His publisher, Doubleday, reports 5 million copies of his four major best sellers are in print.

O'Reilly, 59, is nostalgic: "I liked my country better pre-Vietnam. It was more fun. The Aquarius deal was too confusing. I mean, John Lennon thought he was a walrus. What was that all about?"

Even as a college student, he writes, he never got drunk or did drugs: "I did not want to be under the influence of anything other than my own dubious personality. Ever."

He complains that the "crazed, dishonest ultraliberal media" brands him a conservative. He criticizes conservatives on several issues, including a failure to curtail illegal immigration.

He also attacks "left-wing loons," such as former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, who's a "pinhead."

I'll leave the "I was so pure in college" schtick alone. My question is, how many of those 750,000 copies were purchased by Fox, NewsCorp, or Doubleday in advance of printing in order to put O'Reilly on the best-seller list?

I've read just about all his stuff - though I couldn't make it through but about 1/2 of "Those Who Tresspass" without getting nauseous from the poorly structure narrative - and I can say that this book, like his others, will likely be a rehash of the previous ones with about 15-25 pages of "new" material. O'Reilly's pretty predictable that way.

Of Course He Wasn't.

Further proof that even movie-stars that can barely act their way out of a shoebox get special treatment:

"It was immediately apparent to officers responding on the scene that LaBeouf was intoxicated and he was subsequently placed under arrest," Sgt. Scott Wolf said on Sunday.

and what happened?

LaBeouf was trying to make a left turn at the West Hollywood intersection of LaBrea and Fountain avenues when his pickup collided with another vehicle, rolling the truck over.

More here.

Yes, we all know that "celebrities" live on another plane of existance, another reality where magical doors open, flower-petals fall, money mysteriously appears in your band account, and there is no such thing as "it's your fault".

But come on - Shia LeBeouf?!?! The kid who's name ( if translated literally ) means God's meat-sandwich?!?!?!

You've got to be kidding.

Your Uterus Is Not A Clown Car

That one big.......family

ABBOTSFORD, British Columbia (AP) -- A Romanian immigrant has given birth to her 18th child in British Columbia, making her the province's most prolific mother in 20 years.

Proud dad Alexandru Ionce said Saturday that his 44-year-old wife, Livia, gave birth on Tuesday. Their daughter Abigail weighed in at seven pounds, 12 ounces.

"We never planned how many children to have. We just let God guide our lives, you know, because we strongly believe life comes from God and that's the reason we did not stop the life," said Alexandru Ionce.
