Compassionate Conservativism

Seems that Debbie Schlussel is upset.

And so goes the lying, latest issue of People Magazine, its “World’s Most Beautiful People” issue, which is on the stands today. The magazine’s completely dishonest editors chose disgusting-looking, morbidly obese actress Gabourey Sidibe as one of the “World’s Most Beautiful People.” Come on. You know they don’t believe that. And we don’t believe she’s among the “World’s Most Beautiful People,” either. (In an appropriately-designated “Special Double Issue,” no less.)

This girl’s weight is sickening. She’s gross to look at. And it’s unhealthy. But People is engaging in the usual affirmative action for fat people because the editors clearly feel bad for Sidibe. She was correctly dissed by Howard Stern, who said on his satellite radio show that she would not find more acting work. This choice by People is in response to his and others’ on-target comments. It’s the whole reason this mediocre actress was nominated for an Academy Award this year. But Stern was incorrect, only because the hypocritical, usual Hollywood types felt bad for this fat chick the way they’d never feel bad for a wounded American soldier in Iraq or a victim of Islamic terrorism.

And part of it is because she’s not just any fat actress, she’s a Black fat actress in a ghetto movie promoted by Oprah and based on a “gangsta lit” book. Let’s face it: there have been plenty of equally ugly White fat actresses, like Camryn Manheim. And People didn’t lie to us and tell us they were the “World’s Most Beautiful People.”

Seems like Debbie's got it all there - trashing overweight people AND black people. And conservatives wonder why they are looked upon in such negative ways.

It's true that not everyone sees beauty in the same fashion, but it's clear to me right now that Debbie Schlussel is one of the ugliest creatures on the entire planet.

Cover Girl

Bristol may only be 18, just graduated high-school, and is apparently a staunch advocate of "abstinence", but she's smoking hot and we're putting her on the cover! Yay for teens poppin-out babies!

Yeah, I'm Sure She's Not

There's a line from the film Lions For Lambs where Robert Redford says that when a politician says "I am not running for President" you can almost guarantee that they are:

Although Elisabeth Hasselbeck's Republican leanings have been clearly on display during the election season, The View co-host is denying that she's preparing to leave the chatfest for a position at Fox News Channel.

"While Elisabeth [Hasselbeck] has a great relationship with Fox News, there is absolutely no truth to the rumor that she is leaving The View," her agent, Babette Perry, says in a statement released Thursday afternoon. "Elisabeth is passionate in her beliefs and enjoys being a part of this dynamic group of women and engaging in daily conversations."

Karl Nilsson, Executive Publicity Director for The View, adds: "Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie, executive producers of The View, consider Elisabeth to be vital to the program."

Rumors that Hasselbeck, 31, might jump to Fox News have been rampant on TV blogs, especially in recent weeks as the co-host engaged in increasingly heated debates with her more liberal-leaning counterparts on the show. She has also made numerous appearances on Fox News in the past year, most recently serving as the very first guest on former Republican Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee's new talk show this past weekend.

Hasselbeck, a mother of two, was also a fixture at the Republican National Convention last month and hosted a luncheon for Cindy McCain.

Thankfully, Hasselbeck is not a politician. I can almost hear someone saying to her, "There's no crying in Congress!"

Considering that Mrs. Hasselbeck is fond of digging herself into altercations with the remaining women on The View and then running to the comforting arms of Sean Hannity - and most recently Mike Huckabee - it wouldn't suprise me in the least if a show were to be announced within the next few months.

Perhaps she's going to take over Huckabee's show.

We'll soon find out.
