Clever Conservative Blogging Disguised As Racism

It's hardly a suprise anymore that the increasingly racially divisive language being distributed by various segments of the conservative movement is going to go right up to the edge of using the dreaded n-bomb.

Tammy Bruce's recent post on her site is no different, yet reveals the MO of people who choose to scrape the bottom of the socio-political barrel rather than engage in intellectual discourse.

Right, and it's not a noose hanging from a tree in Jena, it's just a rope. It's not wrong to suggest that blacks ride on a seperate bus to school, it's making sure that they all have a ride. It's not bad to distribute a photo of a giant watermelon patch in front of the White House, we're just showing the agricultural potential of the lawn.

Clearly, at least to those of use with a fully functional brain-stem, the image has blatant racial intent and undercurrents. The mind of the modern conservative is that since Obama happens to be of mixed ethnicity, they should have carde blanche when it comes to using this sort of dialogue. It's easier for them to say, "it's just a racoon" and sit back and smile at what they have created, a race-baiting situation where they can claim that their rights are being violated. The modern fringe conservative feels that racial animus is not only acceptable, but a requirement.

What Has Obama Accomplished?

While John Miller at National Review claims that Obama has accomplished nothing that would validate his Nobel Peace Prize win, and Erick Erickson from RedState.com tweeted that this was nothing more than affirmative action win, one has to wonder if these men have been asleep at the wheel for the last 9 months.

Obama has taken an agressive stance on Iraq, on cleaning up America's image that the previous administration tarnished virtually every chance it could, as well as opening up diplomacy again rather than the "shoot first ask questions later" mentality that George W. Bush was quite fond of doing. He's agressively pushed for other cultures, other religions to open up to one another. He's strived to show that not all Muslims are terrorists, and that America is still a melting pot that is accepting of everyone.

His administration has shown that hostages can be freed from communist countries without military action. His administration is striving for a nuclear warhead free world. His administration has united peoples of all colors within America. But there is still work to be done.

Certainly, the Nobel Prize is nothing more than a symbol of status in certain areas and to some people. The Peace Prize can't be placed on the same level as that of Physics or Literature. The Peace Prize is recognition for attempts at changing not only your specific country, but the world.

Think about when Obama gave his speech in Berlin. Do you remember how many people from around Europe were there, most of them waving American flags. I'll say that again - AMERICAN FLAGS.

And while it would be far too easy to snipe at Erickson for devolving into nothing more than rank racism, it does say something of not just him but his ideological compatriots that this is the first route that they take when a "non-white" wins a prestigious award.

Some Thoughts For Your Morning

- Fox and conservative talk radio are going to be so much fun today. After it was announcedearly this morning that Barack Obama has won the Nobel Peace Price, you can be sure that people on the right are going to have their collective knickers in a twist. In a few months I'm sure Glenn Beck will have a scathing expose where an undercover pimp and prostitute have infiltrated the Nobel Commitee to get some dirt on them.

- Isn't it interesting and utterly ironic that Michelle Bachman would claim that she has stalkers from certain news networks while doing an interview with Bill O'Reilly. After all, his lap-dog Jesse Waters is more than willing to do his master's bidding and even follow someone across state lines in order to ambush them. And it's not just Fox"News" that practices and condones this. Michelle Malkin is well known to stalk families with whom she disagrees.

- In another episode in Fox"News" continuing efforts to conjure up anything against Obama's "czars" Karl Rove is now claiming that Kevin Jennings actively supported NAMBLA. Sean Hannity has been on this kick for a while, even claiming that he covered up a statutory rape many years ago when he was a school counselor. The later and the former have been fully debunked by various people, but it should be pointed out that Both Hannity and Rove have not-so-bright pasts of their own. Most notably, Sean Hannity was overtly sympathetic to neo-Nazi Hal Turner and offered him a platform regularly on his radio program.

Congrats to Paul Krugman on his Nobel win for Economics

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - U.S. economist Paul Krugman, a well-known critic of the Bush administration for policies that he argues led to the current financial crisis, won the 2008 Nobel prize for economics on Monday.

The committee said the award was for Krugman's work that helps explain why some countries dominate international trade.

A prominent economist who writes columns for the New York Times, Krugman has long featured among the favorites to win a Nobel. He is a professor of economics and international affairs at Princeton University in the United States.

While Krugman is a wealth of economic thought, and his win comes within a catagory of the Nobel that doesn't lend itself so much to "blatant partisanship", he is most certainly not a favorite of the Fox"News" crowd.

Many conservative commentators, reporters, and writers despise Krugman not for his economic knowledge, but for his stance against George W. Bush.

In this aspect, Krugman is often put on the defensive and doesn't come off as well as he would if they actually discussed topics of merit.

So, be on the lookout for O'Reilly, Hannity, and probably Neil Cavuto to be hammering away at Krugman and the Nobel committee for the next few days
