Malkin Pours On The Spin-Love Little Jimmy O'Keefe

Not content with even attempting honest investigative journalism, James O'Keefe and his blind compatriots at Project Veritas have cranked out another completely worthless video "expose". This time attempting to do something along the lines of point out hypocrisy regarding people that own guns and the poor decision of a New York newspaper that printed a map of registered gun owners in the region. At least this is what we are lead to believe.

 The only problem is they just wasted time, video editing equipment, internet bandwidth, but - but at the same time - managed to maintain the uncheck, unwaivering, and fawning support of select members of the Modern American Right that lap up O'Keefe's nonsenscial prattling and context free experiemnts like so much cream. Naturally, Ed Morrissey over at Hot Air attempted - and poorly at that - to approach this from a semi-professional bit of spin, twitching serial misinformer and mouth-breathing sychophant jumps with glee, but it was Michelle Malkin's metaphorical hand-job for young Jimmy that really made me laugh. In her latest piece of Malking drooling over O'Keefe entitled WHAT I ADMIRE MOST ABOUT JAMES O'KEEFE, the Purse Lipped Rage Princess traded in her faux indignation for a warm hand and some lubricated language to prove her undying affections for little Jimmy:

…is his willingness and unmatched ability to go after the most sacred of sacred cows: The sanctimonious beasts of the Fourth Estate;

…his relentlessness in exposing media double standards;

…his entrepreneurial independence;

…his indefatigable humor;

…and his success in bringing a smile to my face every time he produces another classic video using the very techniques of those hallowed beasts of the Fourth Estate who feign objectivity.

let's take these preposterous bullet points ( no pun intended ) one at a time.

- his willingness to distort, lie, misinform, edit, and go after people whom have done no wrong is certainly there.

 - Ah, the dreaded media that doesn't tow the Right Wing line. I would ask her what her alleged "standards" are, but I think that would fall on deaf ears. We know what they are anyway

 - There is NOTHING even remotely "independant" about what Project Veritas do. He was at the beck and call of the late deacon of "nu-media" lies, Andrew Breitbart and WELL funded by the corporate overlords that funneled cash into Breitbart's media complex. However, he is at least marginally considered "entrepreneurial", if only in the sense that even a liar can make a buck.

- I'm wondering where Malkin gets that O'Keefe is humorous in any shape of the definition.

 - The last bit is where Malkin finishes off little Jimmy with her silver-tongued prattlings. It's actually pretty disgusting when you think about it.

 It truly is a sight to see what the Modern American Right consider investigative journalism. But it doesn't matter to them, so long as it can be destributed and they control the narrative across legitimate media platforms that feel compelled to waste precious airtime on discussing such pointless and meandering fakery. But unfortunately, it happens will continue to.

 I guess I at least a little guilty in that regard simply because of this post.

NPR, O'Keefe, and Complicit Actions

A brief word on what scam artist and criminal James O'Keefe has accomplished - again.

While the Modern American Right crow like Peter Pan on Crystal Meth - complete with a whine-fest from a disgruntled former employee - one thing should be pointed out:

NPR's Board Of Directors are just as much to blame for what is happening right now.

Actually, the remainder of American media fails in this regard as well.

Are they so weak that they can't stand up to the edits and distortions of O'Keefe and his pimp Andrew Breitbart? Apparently not, as this is not the first time they have enjoyed a certain amount of "success".

Let's not kid ourselves - the Southern Strategy is very much alive in America; and the Tea Baggers are more than willing to swallow it whole and parrot it without fear of reprisal - whether it be in "dog-whistle" fashion or in blatant racism. And from what I have seen here in Western Kentucky, it's becoming more and more apparent and unchallenged.

And speaking about that was, from my perspective, the catalyst that gave CEO Vivian and Ron Schiller the boot. But why?

The reason is that the bulk of America media seem to be more than willing to kowtow to Right Wing attacks, seem to be all to eager to not push the stories that they should.

Of course, this isn't to say that they should adopt the same tactics that their Far Right compatriots do, but that they should report and expose what is there, and do it honestly and openly. In that regard, I would say that there should be more "Maddows" on television every night.

But as far as NPR is concerned, I'm guessing that they pushed out Vivian as more of a procedural move, and Ron was on his way out anyway. But the fact remains that NPR has come off as the weaker one in this story. But they shouldn't have - or is this more of an example of how their reporting has morphed. Dave Neiwert takes on this aspect of the story far better than I could.

There's actually a 2-hour unedited video of the Schiller encounter that I am going to watch and blog about that O'Keefe thinks will absolve him of any wrong-doing - as "context" is something that the Modern American Right are struggling with - but I'm guessing that this has more to do with the fact that their original intent of showing how NPR will accept money from The Muslim Brotherhood failed, and that Schiller voiced his "individual opinion" regarding the Tea Baggers........but more on that later.

Make no mistake, this is not "nu-journalism" as much as it is deception dressed up as reality. But then again, NPR fell for it just like the bulk of the media fell for the ACORN distortions. But there is a downfall to this - it doesn't address the real failures of government funding - which is the alleged point of all this O'Keefe/Breitbart hysteria.

At the end of the day, NPR dropped the ball and made themselves look as foolish as O'Keefe and Breitbart intended them to.

When are people going to realize that scams like this are so transparent?

Some Thoughts For Your Morning

- With Arizona governor Jan Brewer the "face of the moment" for Tea Baggers, I'm guessing this upcoming meeting with President Obama is going to earn her some face-time on Fox"News". However, her ability to be honest about the meeting will most certainly be in question from those not within the reactionary realm of conservative ideology. After all, they do tend to confuse constructive criticism with being totally unhinged and "angry".

- As per the norm for Caribou Barbie, she took after NBC when an alleged promise was made to Sarah and Todd that, if they chose not to appear on a program to directly respond to author Joe McGinnis, they would have any prepared statements featured on the show. Naturally, Palin and hubby lack the courage to appear anywhere but Fox"News" and opted out. Statements were prepared but never featured on the program. However, there is no conclusive proof that NBC struck such a deal and we are left to rely on the questionable words of the Palin's. I'm of the mind that they formulated this plan in order to keep up the narrative that there is rampant "liberal media bias" in America.

- Seems that little Jimmy O'Keefe is afraid to do any interviews on his own, as he's got his pimp-daddy Andrew Breitbart in tow during a sit down on Good Morning America. The incessant whining is pretty much non-stop and O'Keefe even admits that he would break the law again if given the chance. And it's likely that he violated his parole by engaging in fraudulent actions by forging Census documents.

- And speaking of O'Keefe and Breitbart, Andrew went on Glenn Beck's radio program to complain that they were "sandbagged". That's conservatives code for asking to be held accountable.

- I'm not entirely too certain who's side to take in this whole Flotilla episode, but when you have the Israeli government conducting the study of the "peace keeper's" actions, I'm detecting just a tiny bit of conflict-of-interest. Of course they are going to allege that they have terrorist ties, it fits their narrative all too nicely.


- Here's something for the brain to chew on. Right now, out of the 24 pieces on the front page of Michelle Malkin's blog, only half were written by her. She's been doing this a lot lately. And while I'm sure even The Purse Lipped Rage Princess needs a break now and again, I'm starting to get the feeling that she's working on another book. Perhaps it's about how conservatives didn't do as well in the mid-term elections as they thought. After all, that "Culture Of Corruption" book came out VERY FAST after Obama won the Presidency. Just sayin.

Just A Little Prank, Nothing To See Here

Andrew Breitbart fancies himself a rare creature - someone that takes on "The Machine". In reality he is more than willing to bend the laws of America ( and reality ) in order to prove a point. He's not rare, as the bulk of conservatives think and act in this fashion.

During the National Tea Bagger Convention in Nashville last weekend, Breitbart was seen talking with someone about James O'Keefe's run-in with Federal authorities while attempting to tamper with the phones in Senator Mary Landreau's office.




Yeah, nothing wrong with infiltrating a Senator's office under false pretense with intent to tamper with the phone systems. It was just a little prank.

Let's see a group of Muslim-American activists pull this stunt and see what happens. Breitbart would be screaming that it was an act of terrorism.

Poor Andy's Fussy.

I've had a minor altercation with Andrew Breitbart before on Twitter - questioning him about the time-code dates on the ACORN videos and why, if James O'Keefe is such a "professional", why he couldn't work a basic function on a camera - and he's just as pathetic on there as he is on television.

But have you read any of his timeline since it was reveal that his baby boy O'Keefe has a problem with black people and gays? Talk about a meltdown - this one is epic.

Andrew's Blubbery Rage

I often wonder why MSNBC even tries to interview people like Andrew Brietbart, since it always devolves to a cacophonous mash of unintelligible speech.

I'll get to the relevant James O'Keefe details in a second.

It appears that Breitbart is making us of a new conservative talking point. Did you catch it? MSNBC received stimulus money? Judd Gregg made the same claim on MSNBC the following day, and it's just as much bullshit the second time as it was the first.

General Electric got stimulus dollars and they own NBC. So, in the fog that is Andrew Breitbart's cognitive skills, this means that MSNBC received stimulus money. Bill O'Reilly used this same line of reasoning to claim that General Electric had direct dealings with the government of Iran, when these were completely innocuous contracts that had no connection to their government at all.

But back to why Andrew was on to begin with - he was obviously more eager to get Shuster to fall into his semantics argument and put just enough distance between himself and O'Keefe since this little stunt is still very illegal and is not going to end well for any of the four involved.

This is a perfect example of how conservatives approach problems within their ranks: deflection.

Dancing Around Tapping

Raw Story is reporting on James OKeefe's likely breach of a gag-order due to his "tweet" regarding an alleged statement that government officials are not going to pursue "wiretapping" charges against the conservative prankster.

Aside from that, there are some serious questions that this story brings up that conservative media figures are roundly ignoring.

In the "post 9/11" world that we live in ( and conservatives are all to eager to remind us of that ) one would think that a prank or infiltration with intent upon a government official's office would constitute serious legal repercussions.

While OKeefe thinks that he can crow loudly that the "wiretapping" charges may be dropped, he's already in a serious mess. Regardless of whether or not any devices were found on him or his band of merry men, this still constitutes a felony that is punishable by up to 10yrs in prison with a hefty fine.

Now that those involved, both intimately and peripherally ( such as Andrew Breitbart ) have had time to formulate a strategy and possibly make some sort of plea deal with prosecutors, one has to question how serious law enforcement officials are taking this.

It's almost too difficult to not delve into that "what if" realm that conservatives are so fond of. By that, I mean, "what if these men planned on doing something else"? The point is, this isn't Planned Parenthood or an ACORN office, this is a Federal building. Not only that, but the storyline for this just doesn’t make much sense at all.

Allegedly, OKeefe and his partners were attempting to tamper with the phones in some fashion in order to see how the office personnel would react when incoming calls weren't able to be taken. How would they be able to determine whether or not an incoming call was being made without having some device that would detect the incoming signal? Granted, they may not have been able to listen in, but they would have altered the office communications in such a manner that they would have information regarding a call that the office wouldn't.

This case will continue to grow stranger as time passes and more, credible, information comes to bear.

There's So Much More To This Story

Even though we jump to conclusions when it comes to literally everything any and all Democrats do or say, we respectfully ask that all those with fully operationaly higher brain functions completely ignore the fact that James O'Keefe broke the law and wait for us to render final judgement on this. No need to pay attention to law enforcement agencies, as those are full of liberal bias. After all, we have far too much invested in this guy to let something like a Federal crime get in the way of our agenda.

Club Fed Gets A New Resident?

I know it's more of a contemporary realization of what Federal Prison life is like for high profile inmates is like.......



........but if James O'Keefe goes in for the hard time ( upwards of 20 years according to Constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley ) is he going to have it REAL easy or is this going to be real punishment for his actions? I guess we'll see.

Pitching O'Keefe

One has to wonder whether or not conservatives are going to put a lot of distance between themselves and their wunder-kid James O'Keefe after he and his cronies Watergate-style tap-and-grab scheme. It hasn't happened just yet, but there are murmurs of it already.

Michelle Malkin jumped headlong into damage control mode. And by that, I mean she told her mouth-agape following to essentially ignore this until the verdict ( her verdict? ) was in.

This is neither a time to joke nor a time to recklessly accuse Democrats/liberals of setting this up — nor a time to whine about media coverage double standards. Deal with what’s on the table

She's now rather skeptical of O'Keefe's "truth!" statements as he left jail. My question is this - who posted his bond? Andrew Breitbart, perhaps ?

Well, he claims to not have known about this:

We have no knowledge about or connection to any alleged acts and events involving James O’Keefe at Senator Mary Landrieu’s office. We only just learned about the alleged incident this afternoon. We have no information other than what has been reported publicly by the press. Accordingly, we simply are not in a position to make any further comment.

Sounds a lot like someone trying to protect one of their assets, doesn't it? This becomes more relevant as proper context is added to Breitbart's hamfisted "no comment" during an interview with Hugh Hewitt:

HH: And are you free to tell me how much you pay him?

AB: I’ll…perhaps at another date, but he’s paid a fair salary.

HH: Is he…so he is an employee?

AB: I’m not sure that’s technically the thing, but yes, he’s paid for his life rights. And he’s, you know, he’s still…we reserve the right to say yes or no to any of the stories that he puts up on our site as we do to any other contributor who comes to the site.

At this point, it appears that Breitbart has about as much to lose if O'Keefe takes the full brunt of the federal charges. That being, since he has put so much stock into the ACORN footage, it's likely that he is going to do anything within his power to protect James O'Keefe as he can while it is clear that others within the conservative movement are playing the "we don't know this guy" schtick.

- Sarah Palin's sad attempt to hang onto any shred of notoriety found itself nestled in the odd confines of EBay recently. The disgraced former governor of Alaska was auctioning off a dinner with her to some poor sap willing to dish out more money than the average American makes in a year for the dubious "honor" of sitting across the table from her. However, this auction wasn't open to everyone. After all, this is about Palin donating money for tax-write-off purposes...........oh, I mean for "charity".

- A video has surfaced of a Fox"News" "producer" urging the crowd at the 9/12 rallies to cheer longer and louder when prompted. So, if Fox is allegedly impartial in these matters, then why would this woman be rallying the people? Oh, that's right..........

- Did you know that the CBO ( Congressional Budget Office ) that the right-wing conservative set has had such joy in referencing this past summer has released a new study that shows proposed Cap-and-Trade legislation would cost American families around $160 per year? That's 44 cents per day. Wonder why Mitt Romney is still using the already debunked $1761 per year number?

- Bill Moyers, whom my uber-conservative Aunt and Grandmother have been watching for years, recently did a piece on Dick Armey ( the point-man behind FreedomWorks ) and his current lawsuit to keep his government controlled healthcare plan. And, as we all know, Dick is also one of the point-men behind the "grassroots" Tea Party nonsense. But wait, don't they want government OUT of the healthcare industry? Ah, I love the smell of conservative hypocrisy on a Monday morning.

- Apparently, there was a wingnut convention somewhere in the US called the Values Voters Summit, and former governor Mike "I <3 Bass Guitar And Chuck Norris" Huckabee won the "straw poll" for potential presidential candidates. He even beat out Sarah Palin nearly 2 1/2 times over. Even though it's a poorly constructed and coneived idea ( because no matter what, a wingnut wins ) this just may say something of Palin's popularity at this point in the game.

- It seems that James O’Keefe, the VERY white guy that dressed completely unconvincingly as a pimp - yet somehow managed to dupe a few ACORN workers in the US - has a very interesting reason for going after the group. It doesn't sit well with him that ACORN registers minorites. And as we all know, most minorities are going to vote Democratic, as the Republican party has done nothing to make them feel like they were the same as white Americans since Lincoln ended slavery.
