Booka Shade is a German electrohouse duo. It is made up of Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier, described as veterans of the Frankfurt electronic music scene. They have released three albums, "Memento", "Movements" and "The Sun & The Neon Light". Their 2005 singles "Mandarine Girl" and "Body Language" (with M.A.N.D.Y.) were widely played in clubs and licensed on many mix CDs; Resident Advisor called "Body Language" "one of the biggest releases of the year." "Body Language" has been used as a sample by will.i.am in the song "Get Your Money" from his album Songs About Girls.
They were featured on BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix on July 2, 2006.
After beginnings similar to those of Underworld (namely as an overlooked early nineties synth pop duo), the band has more recently created club music. Their releases resulted on European imprints like R&S Records and Harthouse.
In 2002, they founded Get Physical Records with DJ T. and M.A.N.D.Y.
A Blog Version Of The Inside Of My Head. The place where politics, film, the media, music, pop culture, and random topics collide in an orgy of neo-philisophical randomness that would make your mother scream.
