All this twitching and shrieking about Pelosi claiming the CIA mislead her is starting to sound a bit disingenuous.

House Minority Leader John Boehner, in an interview regarding his own questioning of the intelligence communities motives:

QUESTION: [I]n 2007 — I just looked at the transcript — you had accused the intelligence community of greatly misleading the nation by changing their national intelligence assessment about the…

BOEHNER: We’re mixing apples — we’re mixing apples and oranges here.

QUESTION: Why is that different?

BOEHNER: Because when the National Intelligence Estimate came out with regard to Iran, it — it contradicted most everything that I had been told in the six months leading up to it. … I was questioning how this National Intelligence Estimate could — could vary and contradict a lot of information that I’d been told for the six months coming up to it.

Rep. Pete Hoekstra wrote a letter to George W. Bush in 2006 accusing the intelligence agencies from misleading Congress.



And this is not the first time Hoekstra has accused the intelligence agencies in America of misleading him and Congress.

Rush Limbaugh even had some choice words for the CIA in regards to the 2007 NIE on Iran's nuclear program.

Now, say it with me....

Hypocrisy.

That's right.

Speculative Ramblings

It's pieces like this that tend to get a lot of people upset. It's speculation like this that tends to bet a lot of people rambling and cursing and screaming.

Democratic and national security sources say that former National Counterrorism Center head John Brennan remains the favorite to be nominated director of the Central Intelligence Agency even as his pending appointment raises the hackles of some Obama advisers because of his ties to George Tenet and controversial programs.

Nevermind that Brennan's actual involvement in illegal Bush-administration-programs is still unclear, and that the CIA doesn't implement policy, he's only being "considered". I think it's safe to say that there are probably some more individuals who, on the surface, we won't care much for.

There's no reason to get all in a lather just yet.

Yep, Julia Child was a spy during World War II.

Details about Child's background as a government agent come into the public spotlight Thursday with the National Archives' release of more than 35,000 top-secret personnel files of World War II-era spies. The CIA held this information for decades.

The 750,000 documents identify the vast spy network managed by the Office of Strategic Services, which later became the CIA. President Franklin Roosevelt created the OSS, the country's first centralized intelligence operation.

Karl Rove vs. The New York Times : Hypocrisy in Action

Apparently, that greasy paint-load that is Karl Rove is upset with the NewYork Times about a story they did about a CIA agent that questioned Khalid Shaikh Mohammed - the alleged September 11th mastermind.

They pure comedy that rests within this righteous indignation is the fact that Rove is seated in the middle of the Valerie Plame Affair. Sure, there are other ancillary characters in the story that are just as much to blame ( ie - Richard Armitage, Robert Novak, "Scooter Libby", and more than likely Dick Cheney ).

Nevermind that the agent mentioned by The Times was never 'udnercover' and had been mentioned in other articles and books. The Times explained that this was a 'judgement call' and provided 'completeness' to the story.

This is all just more standard fodder for the conservative movement. George W. Bush doesn't like the Times so - in turn - all his little droogies have to hate the Times as well. It's all just a game of 'follow-the-leader' on a mass scale.
