Unfilmed "Bond" Script Sells At Auction

Didn't realize that this had been floating around since 1976:

The script for Warhead, written by Sir Sean Connery, author Len Deighton and producer Kevin McClory, had been expected to fetch no more than £3,000.

In the 1976 script, Bond battles robot sharks attempting to plant a nuclear bomb in sewers underneath New York.

Legal battles stopped the film being made. Sir Sean eventually played 007 again in 1983's Never Say Never Again.

The lot, part of Christie's Pop Culture: Entertainment Memorabilia auction, also included a photo of Connery, McClory and Deighton working on the script in Ireland.

More here from the BBC website.

You know why the script was never made, don't you?

The sharks didn't have friggin laser-beams on their heads.

New Bond Trailer : Quantam of Solace

From The Huffington Post

The teaser trailer for the new 007 movie "Quantum of Solace" is out. Daniel Craig returns as James Bond and is again joined by Judi Dench as M.

In the new movie Bond seeks revenge for the death of his love, Vesper, and sets out to stop an environmentalist from taking control of a country's water supply. A detailed plot synopsis is available on the "Quantum of Solace" site.

The production of the film has repeatedly made news after multiple stuntmen were injured , Bond's rare Aston Martin ruined after being driven into a lake and Craig slicing open a finger.

Also of not are Bond's clothes. Tom Ford will be dressing the super agent, taking over for Brioni.

The film is out in November.

There was lots of talk in "the industry" and of fans of the series ( many of whom jumped ship after Pierce Brosnon and Timothy Dalton took over as 007 ) that Craig wouldn't fit the mold, wouldn't work.

Craig's performance as bond was nothing short of spectacular in Casino Royale.

It wasn't a 'typical' Bond film in the least. He was clumbsy, a shade over-confident, and was still learning his way around. One thing was for sure, Craig embodied the character beyond any shadow of a doubt - and possibly more so than Connery.
