Associations And Conservative Media

It doesn't matter what Barack Obama does.

He could find the cure for cancer, or AIDS, or build a longer lasting lightbulb and the conservative media would still find something ( or create something ) to attack him with.

Sean Hannity loves to do the "guilt by association" schtick as much as possible.

It was a topic of discussion ( again ) on Hannity and Colmes.

Bill O'Reilly has been at it too.

This is standard operating proceedure with them. They love to make a "black man" look bad. But, don't tell them that, because you'd be a "race baiter". It's all smoke-and-mirrors. They aren't saying anything that their intended, target-audience doesn't already at least partially believe.

So, who exactly is supposed to show support for Obama?

Are there a certian subset of Americans that aren't allowed to speak up? Well, if you're asking someone who works for Fox"News", the answer is a resounding YES!

So, what about Jeremiah Wright?

His "controversial" sermon wasn't so much a "controversy" at all. The one snippet that got the most air-time was actually referencing what this "white guy" on Fox"News" said.

Did that make a difference? Of course not.

In terms of the "US Government" using AIDS to destroy the black community, I honestly don't know. But, more to the point, neither do people who say it's not true as well as those that say it IS true.

Where the proof?

There's proof of the Tuskeegee Experiments, so is it completely unreasonable to suggest the same might be true of AIDS? Maybe. Maybe not.

Then there's William Ayres.

Sure, some of what he did is considered "terrorism" ( but, then again, what isn't considered terrorism these days ) but at least he had convictions, he acted, and he was ultimately aquitted.

But, did Barack Obama do these things?

No, he didn't.

Does he know Ayres?

Yes. He even served on the board of the The Woods Fund back in 2000. But still, Ayres is NOT Obama. Who else was on that board anyway? Are they "bad people" too?

Finally ( well, maybe not finally ) there's Tony Rezko.

How close were they? How long had they known one another? Blah blah blah, does it really matter.

I have to work with some of the most racist people I have ever met. So, does that make me a racist?
