...and This Guy Is The #3 Talk Radio Host In America?

Michael "Savage" is just another in a long line of lunatic-fringe conservatives whos lies eventually become "conventional wisdom" with their audience.

Savages latest claim is that Autism is a "fraud".

SAVAGE: Now, you want me to tell you my opinion on autism, since I'm not talking about autism? A fraud, a racket. For a long while, we were hearing that every minority child had asthma. Why did they sudden -- why was there an asthma epidemic amongst minority children? Because I'll tell you why: The children got extra welfare if they were disabled, and they got extra help in school. It was a money racket. Everyone went in and was told [fake cough], "When the nurse looks at you, you go [fake cough], 'I don't know, the dust got me.' " See, everyone had asthma from the minority community. That was number one.

Now, the illness du jour is autism. You know what autism is? I'll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out. That's what autism is.

You see, with Savage - like many other talk-radio hosts such as Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, et al - you get told that every problem in the United States is because of "minorities". You get told that this person is a "communist in disguise", that this group of people are going to rape your daughters, that you are going to have your job taken away, your pension, your home, your wife, your husband, on and on.

It's mindless, psycho-babble packaged as rational thought. It's fear that every one of these radio personalities and conservative "celebrities" know their listeners are going to feed off of. They count on the ignorance of those that pay attention to them, that buy their books, that listen day in and day out to their shows on the radio, that pay money to hear them give speeches.

Savage's rant in regards to autism is nothing new. His show serves no purpose at all.
