What Would Jesus Edit

Not to be outdone by the crazier members of the conservative movement, The Conservative Bible Project is attempting to literally re-write the Bible without all the "liberal bias" that the scribes obviously had.

Make no mistake about it, these people are serious.

Yes, even scripture is not orthodox enough for the modern conservative. Not that it's the fault of the author(s), exactly. The group cites a few reasons why the Bible is too progressive: "Lack of precision in the original language ... lack of precision in modern language" and "translation bias in converting the original language to the modern one.
"

More from Racheal Weiner.

It sounds to me like conservatives just aren't out to change the context the Bible was written in, it's sounds like they are also out to convince modern theological scholars that their interpretations are radically false.

The problem with this is that the Bible has been translated so many times that conservatives are attempting to remake a remake of a remake. Their a little late to the game on this one. But is their actually a "liberal bias" in the Bible? Who are conservatives thinking didn't get enough screen-time in this? Are they going to create whole new characters?

Maybe it will look like this - From the Gospel Of Hannity

Chpt. 1 Vs. 14:

"And lo, Reagan climed the summit of Mount, spoke to the burning Rush, and received the Ten Talking Points."

But considering how conservatives view the Christian religion as a whole, one has to wonder what the church thinks of such blatant attempt at revisionism in holy scripture.

this is too damn much. just when I think they can't get any crazier. do you think they actually think these things through BEFORE they say them out loud?
