Congressman Alan Grayson is riding a wave of popularity amongst liberals and progressives for this statement that was far too long in the coming.
Great statement, or greatest statement?
While some will look at Grayson's statements as nothing more than silliness in favor of getting the attention of the 24hr news outlets, they need to ask themselves not just what conservativism has gotten us but what have the Republicans offered or even accomplished since Janurary 20th?
The Economy - Republicans complain that the stimulus isn't working while they ask for money or pretend like they had a hand in it's successes.
Healthcare - Republicans promote fear within the electorate while a plurality of doctors and the American public not only want reform but prefer the Public Option.
Afganistan - Republicans are more than willing to throw money at a war that is being fought in a country rife with government corruption and have no real "game plan" other than an alleged "surge" that doesn't address how our troops need to be utilized.
Education - Republicans speak in glittering generalities about how "private school vouchers" are the answer. The problem with this is that they are confusing the word "voucher" with the more appropriate word "coupon". School vouchers would only work to reduce the already outrageous costs of private-education institutions and not address those that have no alternative educational outlets to choose from.
And while Grayson's statement may seem silly to some, it's not hard to see that it's actually true.
A Blog Version Of The Inside Of My Head. The place where politics, film, the media, music, pop culture, and random topics collide in an orgy of neo-philisophical randomness that would make your mother scream.

I just posted something on this. Well, sort of. The Republican reaction to Obama just stuns me. How they left no windows open for compromise or even good faith debate. It became Obama = evil. Simple as that.
I'm not sure Republicans can ever regain my respect after the way they've treated this president.
