Lame Satire Is Being Beaten By Talking Dogs

Fox"News" has been all over David Zucker's latest "satire" An American Carol.

Not because it is a particularly good film, but because it lampoons - poorly from what I am hearing - Micheal Moore ( in specific ) and the "far-left" ( in general ).

The plot is pretty simple to understand. The main character, Micheal Malone, is visited by 3 characters - a la Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" when he attempts to aboloish The Fourth Of July.

I rarely - if ever - make statements about films that I have yet to see, but will make special exception with this one simply due to the fact that Fox, and many right-wing bloggers, are touting this as quite hilarious.

As of yesterday, BoxOfficeMojo shows "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" ranking at #1.

I'm not entirely certain if that statement should make me weap for the people that went out with the express intent of seeing it or if I should be afraid of the producers that wanted to make that film knowing that people would watch it.

Down the list, to the #7 slot, is American Carol.

A recent HotAir headline touted that it was "on pace with make $4-$5million".

When considering that the budget of Carol probably won't be recouped, and that in its opening weekend it was beaten by a "talking dog" flick, I'm not so sure that this is a film to be bragging about.
