I'm Deranged?

I often feel sorry for Michelle Malkin.

Any and every time a member of her party is taken to task, mocked, pointed-at, dismissed, vetted, or even mentioned in passing, the opposing party is obviously sufferring from a "derangment syndrome".

Much in the same way that the Right tosses around the word "Fascist" in regards to any progressive or liberal action, Malkin obviously fancies herself as conservative psychologist and is intent on dispensing diagnosis en masse.

The latest strain of "derangement" that Malkin has pulled - quite possibly literally - from her ass is JTPDG. In case you aren't as clever as Malkin and her compatriots, that stands for Joe The Plumber Derangement Syndrome. Catchy, isn't it.

Michelle Malkin is one of many neo-conservatvie pundits and writers who are shining examples of how you can be a published author, syndicated columnist, and television and internet personality by saying the most idiotic things imaginable.

Here's a excerpt from her latest piece intent on creating an almost "holy" aura around Joe and labeling his detractors and skeptics as raving lunatics.

Wurzelbacher never claimed to be making $250,000 a year. He told Obama that he might be “getting ready to buy a company that makes about $250,000, $270,000″ a year. His simple point was that Obama’s punitive tax proposals would make it more difficult to realize his dream.

Obama’s followers couldn’t handle the incontrovertible truth. Left-wing blogs immediately went to work, blaring headlines like “Not A Real $250k Plumber!” Next, they falsely accused Wurzelbacher of not being registered to vote (he’s registered in Lucas County, Ohio, and voted as a Republican in this year’s primary).

Next, they called him a liar for identifying himself as undecided. Only registered Democrats and fake Republican tools used in mainstream media stories and YouTube debates are allowed to use that label, you see.

Next, award-winning liberal blogger Joshua Marshall cast Wurzelbacher as some kind of rabid freak for calling Social Security a “joke” – as if no working-class Americans could believe that the federal government’s entitlement programs were a rip-off unless they were bought and paid for by the McCain campaign.

More here.

While McCain is attempting to use Joe as a tool with which to hopefully coax the "middle class" into identifying with any or all of his potential policies, Malkin just likes to pretend that she knows what she's talking about.

Of course, it does help Malkin that she has such a rabid and unflinching following. But, such is the case of the willfully ignorant with a conservative, political ideology. They never ask questions. They only stumble, groan, and shreik as they move towards the next thing they are afraid of.

The only question that remains is this - who are the ones that are actually deranged?
