In a recent video of Obama speaking to a crowd in Lebanon, Virginia, Obama stated of McCain's "offerings" to the American public:
"You know, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig."
Some of you may have seen Palin's statements from the RNC regarding the "difference between a Pitbull and a Hockey Mom" - lipstick.
Well, the usual suspects are falling over themselves trying to show that Obama was REALLY talking about Sarah Palin.
The usual suspects have already chimed-in: the fine folks @ HotAir, Michelle Malkin and her willfully ignorant followers, and Sean Hannity.
Considering that McCain has used to same "joke" in reference to something that Mitt Romney has said, was McCain calling Mitt a pig?
But, the larger point is, this is such a pathetic arguement to be having in the first place.
Certainly, no one should "attack" a woman simply because she is a woman. This is something that any and everyone should already know.
However, respect is earned, not freely given.
Palin has injected herself and ALL of her family into the political process ( even her daughters new fiance has been injected ) but they and all those that carry their water are saying, "you can't talk about them."
Sure we can, as long as it is the truth.
The same goes for all the other candidates.
But, this whole "pig" thing is just so contrived and pointless.
If we are going to go down that road, why not look at what Palin said about herself and ANY mother-of-a-hockey-player: they are a pitbull. They are a vicious, mean-tempered dog with a less-than-sparkling-reputation and a head that is far too big for their own bodies.
