One of the more recent was John Fund's piece about a team of Democrat operatives that jetted up to Alaska to get the goods on Sarah Palin:
.....Democrats have airdropped a mini-army of 30 lawyers, investigators and opposition researchers into Anchorage, the state capital Juneau and Mrs. Palin's hometown of Wasilla to dig into her record and background. My sources report the first wave arrived in Anchorage less than 24 hours after John McCain selected her on August 29.
While the shadow-ops military imagry tends to work well with Fund's intended targets - Sean Hannity's been running with this on his shows - people from the Obama campaign have come out with statements claiming that this is not true on multiple levels.
Sadly, I don’t have 30 lawyers, researchers, investigators or even wolves at my disposal. We have sent a grand total of zero people to Alaska to research Governor Palin. We’ve got all these McCain houses to keep track of.
The McCain camp has even fired-up a new ad just for this manufactured story:
In 2004, George W. Bush's "wolves" meants terrorists. Now, McCain's wolves mean Democrats.
Cute.
