Based off the comic series by Robert Venditti and Brett Weldele.
The premise seems to be a blend of I, Robot and The Matrix. Perhaps it's a bit of a stretch, but there's some definate correlations between the two. This could end up being mindless, popcorn munching, sci-fi. There hasn't been a truly sucessful science-fiction film that isn't measured by box-office intake. The success of films of the speculative-fiction genre rely on making the audience rethink who and what they are. The first Matrix film accomplished that -too bad the Wachowski brother's screwed it up with the second and thrid films - as well as Linklater with his film of Phillip K. Dick's A Scanner Darkly.

Not for John Carpenter purists, that's for sure.
Also, check out Samurai Frog's blog ( Electric Cerebrectomy ) for his take on Rob Zombie and horror remakes. A great post.
