So Eager To Make A Point That You Don't Check Your Facts

Ann Coulter's publisher has defended her writings by claiming that she uses endnotes. So, how can she defend falling for this April Fools joke?

Her latest ill-informed screed includes the following paragraph:

If Obama can tell GM and Chrysler that their participation in NASCAR is an "unnecessary expenditure," isn't having public schools force students to follow Muslim rituals, recite Islamic prayers and plan "jihads" also an "unnecessary expenditure"? Are all those school condom purchases considered "necessary expenditures"?

Yeah, Ann - that didn't happen. It was an April Fools joke by Car & Driver. It was later removed. Media Matters has more.

Conservative writers, Ann Coulter in particular, love to espouse how their writing reflects an honesty and diligence of research and thought that liberal writers lack. Unfortunately, Coulter is of the school that you can say and do anything to prove your point - facts be damned.

i think the PR manager of Car and Driver might have been on vacation or sleeping on the job when that Nascar April Fool's article was published
