The Party Of "Context": Sean Hannity Edition

In another example of Sean Hannity editing a clip of Barack Obama in order to fit his ideological point of view, he left out an important portion of Obama's speech at Strasbourg, France.

And Hannity isn't the only one to do this.

FoxNation has used the same truncated quote in order to push it's ideological misinformation.

More from Media Matters

As we are all aware of, the predictability factor of Fox"News" editing clips - or blatantly lying - of Barack Obama is massive. What is even more apparent are the cries of "out of context" which we hear from these same people. Once again, we need to remind these people exactly what the word "context" means:

noun
Etymology: Middle English, weaving together of words, from Latin contextus connection of words, coherence, from contexere to weave together, from

1 : the parts of a discourse that surround a word or passage and can throw light on its meaning
2 : the interrelated conditions in which something exists or occurs : environment , setting
