Quick, Find Somebody That's Not White!!!!

Michelle Malkin and Allahpundit have their new toy to play with. Her name is Katrina Pierson.

Just watch. Katrina Pierson, a young mother who spoke at the Dallas Tea Party, sends a clear message to race-card playing twits like Janeane Garofalo: “Not all of us are hypnotized.”

from the Dallas tea party, yet another example of the ferocious white-power structure that consumed the protests. Little-known fact, per James Carville: She was the only attendee, among hundreds of thousands, who was less than 72 years old.

Both Malkin and HotAir's Allah are approaching Janeane's Garofalo's comments the way one would expect them to, with a rush to judgement. And, truth-be-told, Garofalo did the same thing. The problem that Allah and Malkin have is this - they think that simply because they see one ( or even two ) "people of color" at an event such as the tea-bagging festivities that this is THE proof that racism doesn't exist.

Sorry, that's not the case.

This is also true of how Malkin, Allah - and virtually everyone of their commentors - views Barack Obama's presidency. They think that simply because a black man is in the White House that racism has vanished.

Even though neither of them will admit to this, it is a real fact that continues to weave itself within the lunatic-fringe conservative movement. But this doesn't lesson the rights that Katrina has. She has every right to speak, though her wishes may not reveal themselves to be in her favor should they come to pass.

Primarily, I am speaking of her apparent desire for Texas to seceed. It's an comment that sounds good. And that's something that the conservative Right loves, things that sound good. They love powerful sounding comments - comments that appear to be to their benefit but ultimately mean nothing. They love to hear themselves say that there is no racism within their party. But that doesn't mean that it's true. It's just something that sounds good.

There could be a thousand Katrina Pierson's that participated in the tea-bagging hoopla, or even 5000 Barack Obama's in American, but that doesn't erase the fact that racism exists. This doesn't remove the very real fact that there is racism within the conservative Right. And if Malkin, Allah, and others are willing to remain blind to it, they will never be able to see anything with any real perspective.

If Texas decides to secede my only comment is...don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya. Texas is the only state to join the US as a sovereign country and the federal government promptly assumed their debt. Isn't that welfare as the cons like to define it?
