"Come on, don't ask me that," Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele said when presented with the inevitable question about his 2012 intentions and if his political aspirations included running for the White House next time around.
I'm reminded of a line delivered by Tom Cruises plastic-smiling conservative politician in Lions For Lambs where he insists that he's not running for President. In a scene prior to that Robert Redford's college professor character gives an anecdote about how anytime a prominent member of the GOP says they aren't running it most certainly means that they are.
Honestly, I'm hoping for the GOP field to be flooded with Presidential contenders. It will be great entertainment to watch the GOP tear themselves apart more and more while they race to the bottom, just to find that perfect gimmick to get behind.
