He's Gonna Say At Some Point
I'm just waiting until Rush finally loses the plot completely and drops the N-bomb. Because you know it's coming.
Oh, this isn't racist, it's satire. Yeah, completely forgot about that. Nothing to see here, move along.
Aside from Rush being Rush (i.e. loony), I think there is some misunderstanding about the "cargo cults". I have seen some videos of the cargo cult rituals, and heard commentary by modern anthropologists.
In some cases, the natives know very clearly that they cannot replicate the technology. They are merely reenacting historical events.
To me, it's not all that different from having children reenact the birth of Jesus at a church around Christmas time.
