Absurd But Apparently Necessary

I've often spoke about how conservatives are so insistent that the President, his cabinet, the Dems in both Houses of Congress, or the average Liberal or Progressive make statements are act in a way that they could be believable. In many respects, there is nothing short of dadaist absurdity that will satiate the modern conservative.

So, it apparently stand to Stephen Colbert and Phillip Glass to take the conservatives at their word.

The very surreal and absurdist nature of the conservative movement, how they expect the world to treat them, and how they expect their comments and actions to be viewed is something that has made the modern comic more and more successful. It's like their own comedic stimulus - saving or creating new sketches every day.
