A Voice That Created Legend

Mary Travers, of Peter, Paul, and Mary, lost he ongoing battle with lukemia last night.

Peter, Paul, and Mary weren't just any other folk trio. They completely revolutionized the genre and weren't tied to the strick, and often scripted, stylings of the three-part-harmony.

Mary Travers was steeped in the folk tradition from an early age, having seen her parents play with some of the greats, like Pete Seager. Unfortunately, P-P&M are more widely known by the younger generations for Puff The Magic Dragon. It's a shame that more people aren't familiar with their complete catalog. We have truly lost an American treasure.
