Well, if by "you" you mean Barack Obama, you'd be wrong. And if by "the world" you mean the media that are eager to perpetuate right-wing, conservative nonsense, then you are DEFINATELY wrong.
Nevermind that the laugh was directed at the incongruity of the situation. But, that wouldn't have made for nice, juicy, conjecture-style television
