Soderberg's New Leading Lady

When you're making a film about a "call-girl" and your a director who really strives for someone to embody the part, who else would you choose but a porn star?



UK, October 17, 2008 - Steven Soderbergh has cast a porn star - Sasha Grey - as the lead in his next movie, according to Adult Video News.

The Oscar-winning director of Traffic and Ocean's 11 picked 20-year-old Sasha Grey to star in his forthcoming film The Girlfriend Experience.

The low-budget drama, written by Ocean's 13 scribes Brian Koppelman and David Levien, revolves around a high-price call girl and is part of Soderbergh's six-movie deal with entrepreneur Mark Cuban.


Soderberg has been known to make films that are intimately "real". Anyone see his film-experiment "Bubble"?

"The Girlfriend Experience" is already starting to turn people off ( no pun intended ) simply because of who Sasha is. Who knows. With Soderberg, anything is possible.
