It's called "Dog Whistle Politics"
The media-at-large, the pundits, other politicians, and bloggers are quite familiar with the use of "coded language".
This is a fairly blatant and prime example of such:

So, if the new line is going to be that he's allegedly the "anti-christ", there goes their theory that he's a Muslim.
Or better yet - let's ride this snark train all the way out - if Obama was the anti-Christ, wouldn't this put a serious pinch on the financial windfall that John Hagee gets from his "camman-end-of-the-world" group known as Christians United For Israel.
