Hollywood Is Running Out Of Ideas

If you thought that another Friday The 13th or Nightmare On Elm Street wasn't bad enough, Candyman is coming back:

August 15, 2008 - Sony Pictures is reportedly considering remaking their 1992 horror cult classic Candyman, based on the character created by novelist Clive Barker in his story The Forbidden.

And like Jason, or Freddy, or Leatherface, Candyman is a great character ( and Clive Barker is an amazing character creator/author ) but, shouldn't people in the movie making industry realize that these characters do have a shelf-life?

Even though this movie-maniac is interesting, the films have never been great, by any means. So, why would Hollywood waste time and money making another one?
