Now, it appears that Micheal Bay's Platinum Dunes pictures ( oh, great ) is looking at Billy Bob Thorton to portray the man with the cool-ass glove:
UK, August 13, 2008 - File this one under rumour for now, but Robert Englund is claiming that Billy Bob Thornton will inherit his razor-blade glove to play Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street remake.
According to JoBlo, the original Freddy made the statement on radio show Loveline, stating he'd be pleased to see Thornton in the role and would love to see the franchise rebooted with the budget it deserves.

It's a shame too, since Thorton is such a great actor.
