G.I. Joe : The Rise Of Cobra - Not So Sure About This One

Dennis Quaid as Duke?

Really?

IGN.com has got the low-down and more here.

Not often are afternoon cartoons translated into good films. But, with G.I. Joe, the source material allows the writers/directors/producers to play around a bit. Unfortunately, that playing around usually leads to a pitiful film translation that ends up having less-the-convincing special effects, D-list acting, and a script that sounds like it was written by a 5th grader.

That-being-said, maybe a 5th grader could write a better script than most dome-a-dozen people registered with the WGA.

But, G.I. Joe is a "visual" medium first and foremost.

Here are some studio-released images of some of the characters.

Storm-shadow

Snake Eyes

The Barroness ( uniform complete with fake boobs )

Here's what I want to know - where's Cobra Commander, Destro, Serpentor, those freaky twins with the scars that talk in unison.

I'm almost thinking straight to DVD, but there's lots of juice being pumped into this. Let's just hope it's not a lemon.

Damn, that was a lame joke, even for me.
