Jargon Watch v 1.0

Words have always been fascinating to me. Considering the rate at which information travels with such each from one side of the globe to the other, we are privy to rapid changes in language. Not only deviations from it's intended uses into more unique and challenging forms, but the emergence of new words that may be formed from pre-existing language.

Today's example - "Green Crude"

n. A new kind of crude oil harvested from genetically engineered algae. The dark-green syrup thrives on CO2, which could be funneled from coal-burning power plants, and can be made into gasoline or diesel in conventional refineries. The results burn cleaner than petroleum fuels.

Look for this to pop up in conversations between right-wing conservatives and environmentalists within the next few years.
